Nyungwe is one of the oldest rainforests in Africa, covering 1,019 km2 of dense Afromontane forests, bamboo-covered slopes, grasslands, and wetlands. It is home to over 450 species of birdlife and 15 species of primates. You will get to trek the chimpanzees and also walk on the highest canopy walkway in East Africa. We will finish by taking you to Volcanoes National park where you will get to encounter the playful golden monkeys who live in troops of up to 80.

On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by our team with customs and immigration formalities (visa). Once done, they will help you collect your luggage at the conveyor belt and then escort you out of the lobby. Our driver guide will be at the airport ahead of time to meet you with a warm welcome. If time permits, you will exchange some money into local currency at the bureau de change. We will then drive you to the hotel for check-in and an overnight stay on bed & breakfast basis.

Early breakfast at the hotel. You will check out and set off by 06h30 for Nyungwe National Park, where the largest montane forest in East and Central Africa is found.
The heart of Nyungwe Forest is like a scene from a fairy tale.
En route, we will briefly visit the Ethnographic Museum.
This Museum was built in 1987. Its seven galleries display historical, ethnographic, artistic, and archaeological artifacts accompanied by visual aides, giving visitors a rich insight into the culture of Rwandans.

If time permits, we will also visit the King’s palace. Later, continue your drive to Nyungwe.
